Lena Wisbar

(May 27, 1871 - February 13, 1948)

Lena Wisbar was born in Germany on May 27, 1871. She came to America August 17, 1872. The first proof of residence is in 1885. At 17 she married Johann Roose, they had children and farmed. Lena won ribbons for her needlework in the dining and bedroom divisions at the 1938 Butler County fair. She was widowed at 55 and lived until the age of 76 when she died of a heart ailment.
