William Flood was born in Vermont and according to a Find A Grave entry he left Vermont for the West as soon as he could. He was in Iowa by age 18, a blacksmith and farmer. He was married twice, his 2nd wife was Delia Angell they had 8 children. William was in the Civil War Thirty-second Iowa Infantry.
