Much is known about the immediate family of Mathias from his will, which he signed on October 29, 1789, when he was "sick and weak in body." Stated in the book Notes on the Bowman, Harter and Sauer and families.Probate
In Mathias's will, Anna had rights to occupy the east room of their home, use the garden and forage and stable room for her cows and calf, and ‘such household goods and kitchen furniture as she might need.’ She could choose one cow and a calf and the 150 acre farm was to be rented and proceeds shared with her. The remainder of personal property was sold at auction. The will names his sons, and daughters with their married names.Religion
