Mathias Harter

(June 5, 1737 - January, 1790)

Mathias Harter was born in Germany, probably in Baden. He migrated with his family in either 1743 or 1750. He probably traded his passage for labor in America, being a servant for a time. He fought in the Revolutionary War, paid taxes, belonged to a Lutheran church, owned land and wrote a will. He married Anna Schuler, they had children.
