John Field
(1616 - March, 1686)
John Field was born in England where he married Ruth. They came to America and followed Roger Williams to the Rhode Island settlement. John's signature is on the 1640 compact and other founding documents of Rhode Island. He and Ruth stayed in Providence and raised a family.
