William Denison

(February, 1571 - 1653)

William was born in Hertfordshire, England and was a successful merchant. At age 60 he and his family, along with a tutor (maybe John Eliot) sailed for America. -He was very well settled in England but unsettled himself and sailed for the new world.- The Denisons stayed in Roxbury where William died around age 80.

Marriage

Any lingering uncertainty of the maiden name of the wife of William Denison can at last be dismissed. April 2, 1600 at Albury Margaret Chandler and Henry Monk were married. Monk died December of 1602 and Margaret married William Denison at Bishop’s Stortford November 7 1603.

No headstone exists, probable burying place
