Joanna White

On September 11, 1697 a party of about 40 Indians surprised and killed 26 persons of Lancaster. They burned two garrison houses and two barns. Among those killed, besides Daniel and Joanna, were two of their daughters, Joanna,37 and Elizabeth,40; also 2 children of their son, Nathaniel ,and Nathaniel's mother-in-law, Hanna Pescott Rugg.
