"He was a lifelong area resident and devoted family man. He attended Maysville city schools for 10 years and was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and the Cincinnati College of Embalming. He was an avid sportsman and gardener. He served as a past president of the Maysville Players. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and served his apprenticeship with Knox Funeral Home. After being licensed in 1950, he was employed by J.W. Porter and Son Funeral Home. He was an automobile salesman at different times for Clarke Motor Company, Gibson Motor Company and Calvert Motors. In 1972, he founded Carrigan Supply Company which is still a family business. He was a member of Ringgold Lodge I.O.O.F. and had been commissioned a Kentucky Colonel and a Kentucky Admiral."
