Mrs. Carrigan's obituary says she and her husband "moved into the old county infirmary in 1940 and in September of that year became the operators of Carrigan's Benevolent Home on the Mason-Lewis Road. her husband served as administrator of the Home until his death when Mrs. Carrigan assume the running of the establishment.
"Since the closing of the home in 1975, Mrs. Carrigan had continued to reside in their home there."
