According to her obituary, Sarah Catherine "became a member of the Methodist church in Danville during the early period of her married life there. When she became a resident of this city she transferred her membership to the Methodist church here, where she has been a faithful member.
"Mrs. Alverson has resided in St. Joseph since her married to Mr. Alverson in 1907. She and her husband were in the Merchandise business here for a number of years. Her last few years were spent with her daughter, Mrs. Young, who has given her affectionate care during her declining days."
