David Putnam recommended Jacob Butler as a suitable person for the trust as guardian of Joshua Rogers of Lyndeborough, child of Samuel Rogers late of Lempster under the age of 14.A $1,000 bond was posted by Jacob Butler, David Putname, both of Lyndeborough, and Ephraim Blanchard of Amherst on 7 July 1832.
On 2 March 1835, Oliver Holt of Lyndeborough deposed "that my son occupied the Farm the past season, lately owned by Samuel Rogers of Lempster in the County of Sullivan deceased that I resided with him on said Farm about two weeks, that I am acquainted with the present situation of said farm and it is my opinion that it will be condusive to the interest of the Heirs concerned to have it sold and converted to Personal Estate."
On 5 April 1837Jacob Butler reported that Joshua Rogers is sured of a certain tract of land in Lempster, it being the homestead farm of Samuel -- part of lots 18 & 21 - 58 acres more or less. "Premises subject to the right of dower of Hannah Hastings & she proposes to united in the sale by selling her life estate in premises. Conclusive to the interest of his ward to have proceeds put to interest."

Solomon Atwood creditor to estate of Joshua Rogers, late of New Boston, petitions for administration, dated 19 Jan 1877. Four children are listed -- Sarah L. Patterson, Frank B. Rogers, Herbert C. Rogers and William L. Rogers. On 23 Jan 1877 an inventory was presented listing only one-half acre of land with house and barn valued at $100.Endnotes
