STRICKEN WITH PARALYSIS
Lewis Cobb. a Well Known Citizen, Dies Very Suddenly, Saturday
Lewis Cobb, aged sixty-two years, was stricken with paralysis at his home on Christopher avenue, Friday night, and died about 2 o'clock Saturday after receiving a second stroke. To all appearences Mr. Cobb had been in his usual health up to the time of his death and had busied himself during the day with his usual duties. Deceased was well know in Warrensburg, and was in the oil business with his son Will. He formerly conducted a dairy, but sold out about a year ago and moved to Sedalia, from which place he returned about eight months ago, and has since resided in Warrensburg. Mr. Cobb leaves a wife and three children. He was a member of the independent order of Odd Fellows.
The funeral services were conducted at the Bapist church Monday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev B.G. Manard, after which the remains were interred in the Colbern Cemetery. Eureka lodge, No. 88, I.O.O.F., attended in a body and conducted the cememonies at the grave.

Obituary - Lewis Cobb
Died: Lewis COBB at Warrensburg, Mo., April 11th, 1896 at 2:30 a.m. of paralysis. Deased was born Feb. 16th, 1836, at Sinclairville, N.Y. When twenty-one years old he went to Rochester, Minn, where he became a christian and joined the Baptist church. In july of 1862 he enlised as a soldier at Boscobel and entered the army as 3rd Sergeant of Co. B. 33 Reg. Wis. Vol. and served till he received his discharge late in the summer of '65 and returned from the far south.
On September 7th, 1865 deceased married Miss Lizzie M. Green, of Boscobel since which time they have resided in Boscobel and Viroqua, Wis.; Algona, Ia.; Wamego, Kansas, and Kansas City and Warrensburg Mo., To them were born three sons; Fred L., now a dentist at Wamego Ks.; Wm B., in business at Warrensburg and Walton, a lad of only nine years. His life was examplary in every way from boy-hood to end of life. As son, brother, soldier, husband, father and neighbor he won the love and respect of all. His family mourn an irreparable loss. On Monday, April 13th the Odd Fellows came and tenderally lifted their brother and bore him away to his last resting place.

"Lewis Cobb is buried in the Warrensburg Cemetery which is located just west of Warrensburg MO. on Business 50. The Grave site is listed as lot 514 which is located directly behind the main gate and near the back. The stone is over a couple of lots to the West and is marked by a stone approximately three feet tall."
