"FATAL ACCIDENT AT YORK.—Yesterday afternoon, as Mrs. Freeman, with her son and daughter, the latter a young lady of 24 or 25 years of age, were returning from church, the horses became unmanageable, and. Mrs. Freeman and her daughter Charlotte were thrown from the wagon, striking heavily on the frozen ground. The daughter was injured so that she survived only about three hours, and Mrs. Freeman, when last heard from, was not expected to live until noon to-day. The son escaped without serious injury. Mrs. F.'s husband, Jehiel Freeman, was formerly and for many years well known in Livingston county as the agent of the late General Wadsworth. It is probable that the victims of this distressing casualty will both die, the mother and daughter be buried together. The sad occurrence has naturally produced a profound impression among the people of the town to whom they were well known."
