On 30 March 1908, Velora started receiving a widows pension for Charles' service in the Civil War.
In 1910 widowed Velora is in Hammond.
In 1920 Velora is now married to Addison Dietz and they are living in Hammond.
Obituary abstracted from THE HAMMOND VINDICATOR, Hammond, LA, 8 Mar 1935; "Mrs. Velora Deitz, 84, died Monday, in Hammond. Funeral Tuesday; interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. Born in Marengo, IL; 1st husband was Charles Griffin; they and two sons moved to Hammond. Survived by two grand-daughters, Mrs. Sidney Gomez of Hammond and Mrs. Frank Lee Griffin of Berkley, CA; 8 great, grandchildren."
