Birth
Goldie Isaacson was born on June 10, 1895. She was the first child and daughter of Harris and Bessie Smith Isaacson. Her place of birth is a mystery; However, her entries in the 1900, 1920, 1930 and 1940 U.S. Censuses list her as being born in Michigan. The 1910 U.S. Census. lists Minnesota. So the preponderance of evidence suggests Michigan although I still have not found her actual birth record.Census
She was 5 years old living with her mother and siblings and her Uncle Ben Rosenberg's family at 5954 Wentworth Ave. Harris was in Amasa, Michigan. Bessie was pregnant with Albert.Census
She was living with her parents and siblings at 1056 Maxwell St. in Chicago. She was attending school and employed as a weaver of hair goods.Census
