The following obit appeared in the February 14, 1986, Cleveland Jewish News:"Delores Fader dies at 53;
received volunteer award
Delores Fader was honored in 1984 by the Federation for Community Planning as one of 11 outstanding volunteers in the community. Mrs. Fader, who was 53 years old, died Feb. 10 at her home in Mayfield Heights. She was born in Chicago and was a graduate of its Mt. Sinai Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. She was head nurse of the hospital until she came to Cleveland in 1954 with her husband, Dr. Alfred Fader, chief of staff of
Suburban Community Hospital. In Cleveland, Mrs. Fader was a cardiology nurse technician at Mt. Sinai Medical Center until 1958. Mrs. Fader was a hot line telephone counselor at the Rape Crisis Center and worked with rape and incest victims.
She herself was afflicted with multiple sclerosis, and counseled other patients through the Service for Independent Living. Mrs. Fader attended college in a wheelchair and earned a degree in psychology from Ursuline College in 1982. Most recently, she worked towards a master's degree at John Carroll University. Mrs. Fader counseled adolescents with, chemical dependency after completing an internship ai the former Women’s General Hospital.
In earlier years, Mrs. Fader was president of the Orange School PTA and a volunteer at Suburban Community Hospital. She was a member of Park Synagogue and its Sisterhood.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fader is survived by a son, Steven, of New Orleans; and daughters, Cynthia, Debra and Lora. The family is at the residence, 120 Fox Hollow Dr., through Sunday evening. Contributions in memory of Delores Fader may be made to the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, c/o YWCA, 3201 Euclid Avenue."
