Pearl Teitelbaum Lukin in 1972 told Mark Teitelbaum:"Dr. Samuel married Betty Frumkin on March 21, 1954; he met her in 1953 when she was a patient. They moved to Maple Heights, Ohio for a few months before Samuel had to go to Korea as a surgeon. While he was in Asia, Betty Teitelbaum lived with her mother and Mark Teitelbaum was born December 24, 1954. When he returned they moved near Ben Teitelbaum at 23780 Shelburne."

Dr. Samuel '"Mickey " S. Teitelbaum, a general and thoracic surgeon, died May 10. Associated with Hillcrest and Mt. Sinai Hospitals, Dr. Teitelbaum
was one of a team of five physicians who did pioneering work in kidney transplants during the 1960s. He was an assistant chief of surgery at Mt. Sinai Hospital during the 1970s and associate clinical professor at University Hospitals. Known to many of his devoted patients as Dr. Sam, he was a pioneer in less invasive breast cancer surgery and often provided care without concern for payment. An avid bridge and tennis player, Dr. Teitelbaum also enjoyed reading and gardening. He was a member
of Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple. He served in the Army during WW II and was a major with the 102nd MASH unit in Seoul, Korea, during the Korean War. He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Western Reserve
School of Pharmacy and an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of The Ohio State Medical School
Dr. Teitelbaum is survived by his wife (née Frumkin); sons Mark (Claudia) of West Hartford, Conn., and Dr. Daniel (Milinda) of Ann Arbor, Mich.; daughter Susan (Stephen) Goldberg; and eight grandchildren; Brian, Lisa, Hannah, Abigail and Rachel Teitelbaum and Michael, Jennifer and Eric Goldberg. Contributions may be made to NCJW/Montefiore Hospice Home Care."
