Individual Details

Samuel Frye

(Abt 1650 - 9 May 1725)

Samuel Frye was an Ensign in the local militia. He was a Corporal in 1692 and is listed as a Captain in 1708. He is also listed as a Selectman in 1692 and from 1702-1703.

I found a source that gives John Frye as his grandfather and a son of John, Robert (although there are not consistent records that Robert is actually one of the sons), as his father which may make more sense in terms of age. That source is the History of Wilton, New Hampshire. The Frye genealogy book gives John as his father. On the other hand, there is a birth record for his brother James born in 1652 with John and Ann as the parents, so maybe she just had children for a very long time.

Samuel is given as a son in the will of John Frye. He is the third son and James in the youngest.
House built by Samuel Frye in North Andover in 1711.
