Notes
Property
On 19 April 1726 (the day before her marriage), Mehitable Woodman, single woman of Newbury daughter of Joshua Woodman late of Rowley, in consideration of £185, conveyed to Ebenezer Stewart “one half of my father’s real estate which belongs to me by kinship”. One tract was of eight acres with one-half the dwelling house and one-half the barn and a second tract of thirty acres. On 9 March 1729/30, there was an agreement between Ebenezer Stewart and Andrew and Mehitable Duty clarifying this deed. The thirty-acre tract seems in the 1726 to refer to the whole piece, but one-half of the tract was intended to be conveyed. The indenture confirms that one-half the property was conveyed in the deed.[1]49:169
