Edna Platts was widowed within a month of her marriage to Joseph Abbott. She did not remarry and died in 1785. In her will she left bequests to her widowed mother Abigail Platts, her brother Moses Platts, her sister Jeannah Runnels, sister Anna Platts, sister Abigail Dwinell, sister Elizabeth Platts, sister Judith Lovkin, and to Joseph Abbott and his five sisters the children of her late husband Joseph.
