The information on this family from the Abbott genealogy book seems to be completely wrong. Some of these births are credited to Joseph Phelps, Jr. and his wife Lydia in Pomfret. But I did find three of them for Joseph and Elizabeth in Princeton, MA.
I think I have it figured out. The 1765 birth of Elizabeth and the 1767 birth of Lydia in the Pomfret records just seem to be mis-attributed to Lydia when they go with Elizabeth. The baptism records list the mother correctly as Elizabeth.
