Notes
Probate
New Hampshire, County Probate Records, 1660-1973, Hillsborough, probate of Eliphalet Putnam, 1826, 24:44, 39:338, 30:424, 35:51, 38:289, 39:557, 20:417In the settlement, it was determined that the homestead property could not be reasonably divided and so was given as a unit to the three oldest sons. The other children received a payment of $129.43.However, it was determined that Rachel Dascomb was previously advanced the sumof $224.28 by her father, and this was more than her share, so she received nothing from the estate. The total value of Eliphalet’s estate was $4,996 which include a $4000 value of the homestead farm and an additional 22 acres of woodland.
