Joshua Abbott commanded the fifth company in Col. John Stark's regiment (First New Hampshire) at The Battle Of Bunker Hill in 1775 . He was present with his company near New York, April, 1776. Later the regiment marched to the assistance of the northern army, and was at Mt. Independence, Nov. 1776. The next year he was a captain in Lt. Col. Henry Gerrish's regiment which marched, Sept. 1777, and helped capture Burgoyne's army at Saratoga.
