There are discrepancies in published genealogies as to which Hannah Abbott married Abiel Holt and went to Connecticut and which married John Lane. This issue seems to be settled by probate records for Timothy Abbott, father of Hannah, who died in 1730. During the probate, Hannah files a document as Hannah Abbott, spinster of Andover, acknowledging the settlement from her brother Timothy related to the estate of their father Timothy. This would eliminate Hannah the daughter of Timothy as the wife of Abiel Holt as Abiel Holt and Hannah Abbott were married in 1721. So, it seems that Abiel Holt married Hannah the daughter of William Abbott.
