Property
On 12 July 1780, Benjamin Stevens (then known as Benjamin,Jr.) and his brother Jeremiah purchased from their father Benjamin one-half of his real estate in Methuen for payment of fifteen thousand pounds.[1] On 15 April 1783, Benjamin Stevens, Jr. carpenter of Methuen and Jeremiah Stevens yeoman of Methuen, for payment of £295, purchased an 87-acre tract of land in Dracut with house and barn from Benjamin Varnum and his wife Molly.[2][1] Massachusetts Land Records, Essex County, 138:127
