Case 26360In his will written 23 January 1781 (probate 4 November 1799), Benjamin Stevens bequeathed to his sons Benjamin, Jr. and Jeremiah all the estate real and personal not otherwise disposed of. Sons Simeon, David, and Abner each receives £14. Daughter Rebecca Herrick receives £3; daughter Martha Day, 40 shillings; daughter Annis Stevens, £12; daughter Phebe Stevens, £8; daughter Chloe Stevens, £8; and daughter Sarah Stevens, £8. The four youngest daughters receive the household goods, looms, and utensils. Benjamin and Jeremiah are named executors. At the time of time of the probate in 1799, Annis signed as Annis Harris giving her agreement to the settlement as well as John Harris. Daughter Chloe signed as Chloe Stevens in 1799. Two grandchildren signing as heirs are Abraham Day and Rebecca Day who are the children of daughter Martha.[1]Real estate was valued at $958. Payments of legacies by executor Benjamin Stevens on 13 January 1809 went to Simeon Stevens, David Stevens, Abner Stevens, Thomas Herrick, John Harris, Jonathan Morse, Chloe Stevens, Sarah Stevens, Abraham Day, and Rebekah Day.
