Probate
In his will written 6 May 1801 (proved 30 November 1802), Jonathan Kingsbury bequeathed to beloved wife Lodema one-third of the household furniture, one-third of the farming tools, and two hundred dollars-worth of neat stock for her own use and disposal forever. She also receives the use and improvement of one-third part of the home farm which consists of about 450 acres but excludes the Holt farm and the so-called Ashford farm. Daughter Anna Rindge receives one-fourteenth part of the estate real and personal. Second daughter Lora Hammond, third daughter Artimesia Wallace, fourth daughter Rhoda Kingsbury, fifth daughter Lodema Kingsbury, and youngest daughter Amie Kingsbury also receive one-fourteenth part each. Sons Lewis, Lester, Ransom, and Jonathan each receives one-seventh of the estate. Grandson Jonathan Rindge receives thirty dollars at age twenty-one. Trusty friend Daniel Dennison was named executor. The total value of the estate was $12,029.96. The home farm of 450 acres was valued at $6,600.[1][1] Connecticut,Wills and Probate Records, 1609-1999, Windham, Volume 15, pp 39-42
