At the 1850 Census, William and Emily and one year old daughter Sarah were living in New York City. Sarah died in 1851.Residence
At the time of the 1860 Census, the family is in New Jersey and there is daughter Mary E, age 2, in the home. There is also a young Irishman, Michael Broyedy age 20, living with them. Michael is working at the same place as William, so maybe he is a temporary boarder.Death

The death record gives his occupation as "oberser of Clay Bank." I have no idea what that means. It may refer to laborer in a clay bank (brick yard).Endnotes
