Essex County, MA: Probate File Papers, 1638-1881.Online database. AmericanAncestors.org. New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2014. Case number 23901By the time of the administration of the estate, widow Becca Robinson had also died and the following heirs signed a statement that Deacon Charles Foster of Andover be named administrator: Benjamin Robinson, Nathan Robinson, Aaron Robinson, Isaac Barker, Samuel Spofford, and Sarah Robinson.
In the will of John Robinson written 28 October 1809, beloved wife Becca receives all the estate, real and personal, for her use during her life. After her decease, the estate to be divided among sons Israel, Benjamin, Nathan, Aaron, and Joseph. Daughters Rebecca Barker, wife of Isaac Barker, Deborah Spofford the wife of Samuel Spofford, and Elizabeth Swan wife of Josiah Swan, and Sarah Robinson single woman receive all the household goods to divide equally. The daughters each also receive a cash payment of varying amounts. Son Benjamin receives an extra bequest of land and cash. Son Jeremy receives silver buckles and $50; Jeremy is receiving less than his brothers as he has received so much for his education and other money from his father already. A special note is made that John has been informed that son Aaron intends claims against the estate for work he did for his father after Aaron was 21 years old. The will explains that Aaron was paid $100 a year for his work and received a number of other considerations in money and that Aaron's does not have a legitimate claim against the estate.
