Notes

Birth

The name is not on the birth record; just says it is a son. But Joseph married in 1733 so I think it is him.

Will

Joseph wrote his will 17 November 1777.  His widow Mehitable receives the use of all the household goods, one-half of the cow currently being fattened, and as much pork and other provisions that she requires for her support.  Mehitable also receives the improvements from one-third part of the real estate.  Son Joseph receives £260 which will be paid to him from the estate by son John. Jeremy is also bequeathed Joseph’s best gun.  Daughter Mary wife of Henry Bodwell receives £12.  Daughter Mehitable wife of James Frye receives £12.  His two daughter will also receive the household goods after the decease of their mother.  Son John receives all the remainder of the estate and is named sole executor. [Son Jeremy is called Jeremiah in the available vital records.]
