In his will dated 24 November 1853, Daniel Abbot leaves to his beloved granddaughter Mary Elisabeth Abbot the only heir of his deceased son Charles D. Abbot, $10,000 in stock shares. All the residue of the estate, he leaves in equal portions to son William Pickman Abbot and daughter Catherine Pickman Dinsmoor wife of Samuel Dinsmoor. Son William is named executor.
