On 17 April 1798, the heirs of Jonathan Barker conveyed their undivided nine-tenths parts to Amos Barker of Methuen for $533.33. Those heirs conveying the property of their honored father were Jonathan Barker, Benjamin Barker, and Jesser Barker of Sunday River, Symonds Epes Barker, Samuel Barker, Solomon Jennings and Molly his wife in her right, Daniel Morse and Hannah his wife and her right, Joseph Osgood and Abigail his wife in her right, and Elsie O’Niel, all of Methuen. The property was a 95-acre homestead with dwellings and barn. On the same date, Abigail Barker widow of Jonathan relinquished her right of dower in the property to Amos Barker for the sum of fifty pounds.1
