In her will written 26 May 1876 (probate 27 January 1880), Lydia W. Emerson bequeathed to her grandson Frank and Willie White, sons of daughter Catherine White deceased, five dollars each. Son James O. Emerson received all the money owing to his kindness to her during her last years. The residue of the estate was to be divided among all her children living at the time with specific items set aside for daughter Louisa J. Titcomb, Martha Jackman, and John Woodbury. Son Jacob Emerson was named executor.1
