Property
On 8 April 1799, Edward Patee, Jr. yeoman of Salem, New Hampshire, for payment of $550, purchased from Joshua Emerson of Methuen a 30-acre farm in Methuen with buildings.1On 29 November 1815, Edward Patee of Methuen mortgaged his 30-acre farm in Methuen to David How of Haverhill for two hundred dollars with the promise to repay the amount with interest in three months. Edward apparently did not pay the amount in the promised time as on 11 March 1817 David How quitclaimed his interest in the property to Daniel Merrill of Salem, New Hampshire for $215. On 12 March 1817, Edward Patee and his wife Dorcas of Methuen sold the farm to Daniel Merrill for $253.2
