Property
On 18 February 1828,Ebenezer Emerson currier of Methuen, in consideration of two hundred and fiftydollars, quitclaimed to Oliver Emerson (his father), gentleman of Methuen, hisinterest in a 26-acre tract partially in Methuen and partially in Salem, NewHampshire.[1] Ebenezerdied soon after the land transaction with his father. After his father Oliver’sdeath in 1839, Ebenezer’s children who were then of legal age, were involved ina land transaction related to the settlement of their grandfather Oliver’sestate. This land transaction was a quitclaim to the same 26-acre tract inMethuen and Salem. Ebenezer’s heirs involved in the transaction in 1840 were OliverEmerson 2nd, Norris Emerson, and David Emerson, all of Methuen; NathanEmerson of Charlestown, Massachusetts’ Richard Woodbury and his wife ElizabethK.
