On 20 October 1829, Abijah Barker gentleman ofAntrim sold to Abijah Barker, Jr. a 9-acre tract in Antrim for sixty dollars.On 30 August 1836, Abijah with his wife Susannah, in consideration of twohundred dollars, conveyed 34 acres in Antrim to Abijah, Jr. On 20 October and21 October 1843, Abijah Barker sold his farm property in Antrim, selling theeasterly half of his current farm to John Barker and the entirety of the farmknown as the old Abijah Barker farm to John Barker and Charles Barker. Abijahreserved to himself part of the house for his own private use. On 21 November 1818,Abijah Barker aged sixty years and resident of Antrim applied for a pensionbased on his service in the Revolution. In March 1781, he enlisted as a privatein the company of Capt. John Williams, Col. Joseph Vole’s 1stregiment for a term of three years in the Continental army. He was promoted toSergeant on 5 August 1783 and served as Quarter Master Sergeant until 24December 1783. He was discharged at West Point in 1784. Abijah was placed onthe pension roll in 1818 but was dropped from the rolls in 1820. He petitionedfor reinstatement of his pension on 16 February 1829. In 1829, he reported hisproperty as 60 acres of land valued at $600 and a personal estate valued at$239.50. He was finally restored to the rolls in 1832 with retroactive paymentsof $80 per year beginning 4 March 1831.[1][1] U.
