On 18 April 1822, John Barker was of Walpole when he purchased a 52-acre farm in Walpole from Daniel Corliss for payment of four hundred dollars. On 24 June 1828, John Barker was of Walpole when he sold fifteen acres in Alstead to Daniel Brown for sixty dollars. On 14 April 1829, John Barker of Walpole mortgaged a 52-acre property in Walpole to Samuel Nichols for one hundred dollars. On the same date, the same property was mortgaged to Asa Wenworth, Jr. of Alstead for two hundred dollars. On 26 May 1832, Rachel Barker the wife of the said John Barker relinquished her dower rights to the property mortgaged to Asa Wenworth, Jr. in deed 109:388.1
On 10 April 1806, John Barker, yeoman of Alstead, for payment of $278, leased from the selectman of Alstead a tract of 46 acres in Alstead for a span of 99 years. On 8 September 1809, John Barker and his wife Hannah of Alstead sold the 46-acre property he originally leased to Stephen Bingham for $278.2

Biography

Here he is in the History of Hancock – says he settled in Alstead – one of his sons drowned – and just says Ebenezer the son of John settled in Youngstown – so maybe John goes somewhere else – maybe to Vermont
