Probate
Hannaniah Barker did not leave a will and his estate entered probate on 17 September 1825 with John Barker as administrator. Personal estate was valued at $217 and later value of the estate was $281.47. Widow Lydia Barker received $69.34 from the persona estate. After debts and expenses, $137.56 was available for distribution with one-fifth parts going to each of the heirs: John Barker, Abial Barker, Samuel Barker, Susannah Barker, and Hannah Bridges.1There is a probate

Military
On 17 April 1818, Hannaniah Barker aged sixty-six years [sic] and resident of Reading, Vermont applied for a pension based on his service in the Revolution. Hannaniah enlisted from Boxford in April 1776 for a term of one year in the company of Capt. John Robinson, Col. John Durkee’s regiment of the Connecticut troops. At the expiration of that term in April 1777, he enlisted for three years in the same company. He was discharged in April 1780 at Newtown, Pennsylvania. He was in the Battle of Saratoga and Battle of Rhode Island (reported as Battle of Long Island elsewhere in the pension file). On 8 September 1820, Hannaniah provided additional information on his circumstances. He had no property except his wearing apparel valued at eight dollars. He was a farmer by occupation but was almost wholly unable to perform any labor. His household was himself aged 77 years and his wife aged 67 years.11 U. S.
