Hannah's birth family name also known as NILSON and NILLSON. She was adopted at birth by neighbours, a family by the name of SKAIEM, due to the death of her mother.
In 1898 she was employed at the Arthur Brownlee Farm in Mapleton, Cass Co, ND where she met her husband Si Flatt.
Sally Brown discovered a folder in the local library which has the inhabitants of the Mikado Mines in 1901. "Hannah Flatt 1882 US" is included in the list.
