Obituary provided by Joel D. Flatt, "Rites Tuesday for Drowned Grandin Boy. Services will be Tuesday for Douglas Keith Flatt, 19-month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert A. Flatt, Grandin, ND. Rites will be at 1:15 in the farm home three miles south of Grandin and at 2 in Grace Lutheran Church in Grandin. Rev. R. T. Shurich of Hillsboro, N. D. will officiate, with burial in the Gardner cemetery. Ivers Funeral Home is in charge. Douglas was born Dec. 29, 1949 in Moorhead. He apparently drowned Friday in a 10-gallon crock in the yard of the family farm. The boy had been playing with some ducks in the farm yard and apparently slipped and tumbled in the crock which was half-full of water, a family spokesman said. Survivors, besides his parents are a sister, Linda Gail, 4 and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Paasch of Sabin, Minn, and Mrs. Martha Flatt, Grandin."
