"Robert C. 'Bob' Flatt.
Robert C. "Bob" Flatt, 84, longtime Park County Resident, died early Monday morning, Nov. 10, 1997 at Livingston Health and Rehab Center after a lengthy illness. Cremation has taken place following family visitation. Vigil will be held at 6. p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the chapel of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home In Livingston. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Dale Yurkovic as celebrant. Frazen-Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Flatt was born April 24, 1913 in Fargo, N.D., the son of Thomas and Roxena Flatt. He moved to Carter, Mont., at an early age and attended schools there and in Fort Benton. On June 15, 1940 he married Marie Kirscher in Livingston. They moved to Park County in 1942 and established the family ranch at Chadbourne. Upon retiring in 1974, they moved to Livingston where Mr. Flatt enjoyed fishing, traveling and the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He served on many community boards, including the Farmers' Home Administration, Cowan and Clyde Park school boards and the Park Farmers' Co-Op. He also was an honorary member of the Clyde Park FFA. He enjoyed dancing and visitng with friends at the Friday Night Dance Club and the Saddle Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Park County Pioneer Society.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Flatt of Livingston, one daughter, Doris Peterson and her husband, John of West Richland, Wash; three sons Ed Flatt and his wife, Sherry of Livingston, Don Flatt and his wife Sandi, and Ken Flatt, all on the family ranch at Chadbourne; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother.
If desired, memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Livingston, or to St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Clyde Park."
