Dear Thelma,
I am very sorry I haven't written before. Did you name the baby Nancy? Mamma and I both think it is a pretty name. I would love to see her and you and Rob. Next time you see "Mother" tell her I said "hello". Have you seen Aunt Gurina lately? When you do tell her I said I would like to have some more brown cheese. I can't spell it. [NH: I believe she is referring to Primost]
Well I hope to graduate from grammer grades this year. Commencement will be Friday night, May 17, 140. School is out the 21st. Miss Currie is my teacher. Do you remember Less Sweeney? Well Miss Currie looks like her.
I went to the dentist last Sat. to see about getting my teeth filled. I thought I had onl6 6 small places but he said I had thirteen. I don't know what caused it though.
We have a little picket fence around the yard and it looks good. We still have the old "Pagie". Everyone says our house is the cutest one in Bonnie Doone. We have two dogs. One is about four months old, the other is about three. The oldest one is "Duke" about a foot and a half high. The other one is "Skippy" about 6 inches high.

I passed with honerary compliments from Miss Currie, Mr. Coon (principle) and Mr. Wilson (county superintendent). I get my certificate Friday night. Junior passed too.
Well I guess I must close. Write soon.

Presbyterian Church is Scene of Candlelight Ceremony as Miss Jeannette Karine Erickson Becomes Bride of Ensign Carlton A. Bonner, Jr.
The First Presbyterian Church of Hudson was the scene of a candlelight ceremony at eight o'clock Monday evening, May 5th, when Miss Jeannette Karine Erickson, daughter of Lt. Col. and Mrs. C. P. Erickson, became the bride of Ensign Carlton Albert Bonner, Jr., U.S. Naval Air Corps, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Bonner, Sr. of New Augusta, Mississippi.
Dr. E. W. Wright performed the impressive double-ring ceremony, Mrs. Harold Walbrandt, organist, played the nuptial music, and accompanied Miss Marion Schueler who sang two solos, "Ich Liebe Dich" and "Because".
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin, fitted bodice, with a full skirt of sheer marquisette, falling into a long train. The drop shoulder effect was carried out by two rows of old lace, softly gathered. the full length sleeves came to a point on the back of her hand. Her finger-tip veil, edged wtih illusion lace, was held in place by a heart shaped tiara of seed pearls and silver beads. She wore her mother's necklace of pearls and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and sweet peas with streamers of white satin.
Mrs. Jerry Domrese of St. Paul, as matron of honor, wore a fitted gown of white taffeta, with a full skirt. Her headdress was a braided coronet with a short tulle veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses and sweet peas with streamers of blue and white.
Miss Margaret Weatherhead and Miss Thelma Erickson, sister of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore identical gowns of white, fitted bodice of taffeta with full skirts of sheer marquisette. They wore a coronet of gathered tulle with a shoulder length veil, and carried colonial bouquets of pink carnations, peonies and sweet peas, with streamers of pink and white.
Clarence J. Erickson, brother of the bride acted as best man. The ushers were Jerry Domrese of St. Paul, John Gilbertson, Phil Larsen and Curtis Burkholder. Ens. Bonner wore the Navy blue officer's uniform, which was most impressive with the uniforms of Col. Erickson, Lt. Domrese and Lt. Gilbertson.
Mrs. C. A. Bonner, Sr., mother of the groom wore a gown of aqua crepe, and the bride's mother wore a gown of orchid. Both mothers and Mrs. J. A. Stayberg, maternal grandmother, wore corsages of pink roses and pastel sweet peas.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony in the dining room of the church--the bride cutting her cake with the Sheffield silver carving knife sent to her by her father while in Australia. Miss Marion Schueler, Mrs. Lester Bethel and Mrs. Henry Weyers assisted in serving at the reception.
Ensign and Mrs. Bonner left for St. Paul Monday night, and departed by plane Tuesday morning via Northwest Airlines, for Los Angeles and San Diego, arriving there Wednesday afternoon. Ens. Bonner is taking a five weeks course in radar and electronics at Ream Field, San Ysido, California.
