Rose L. Richie, 84, of 718 St. Croix St., North Hudson, died Sunday, April 13 at Hudson Memorial Hospital convalescent home after a month's illness.
The daughter of Henry and Catherine (Ricci) Dabruzzi, she was born March 22, 1896 in Ateleta, Italy. She came to the United States at two years of age and has been a resident of Hudson since 1916.
On November 28, 1914 she was united in marriage to Dominic Richie at St. Anthony Catholic church in Cumberland.
She is survived by six children, Mrs. Clifford (Phyllis) Hagen of St. Paul, Mrs. William (Louise) Lubich of River Falls, Mrs. Frank (Peggy) Sirianni of Menomonee Falls, Mrs. Frank (Catherine) Caliguire of Minneapolis, Mrs. Gordon (Delores) Penman, Hudson and Mrs. Glenn (Evelyn) Larson, North Hudson; 30 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Lena) Kromholz of Rockford, Illinois; Mrs. Otto (Mae) Savina and Mrs. William (Minnie) Ricci, both of St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 4, 1970 and two children, George and Carmella
A parish vigil was said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Kramer-Wulff Family mortuary.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was at St. patrick's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Robert E. O'Connell officiating. During the Mass the church choir sang accompanied by Mrs. John Sandquist as organist. Interment was in St. Patrick's cemetery.
Grandsons who served as casketbearers were Donald Hagen, David Reisinger, Michael Fischer, Frank Caliguire, Tim Penman and Carig Larson.
