Dominic Richie, 75, of 604 Sixth Street N, Hudson, died Tuesday, June 4 at Hudson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
The son of Anthony and Carmella Richie, he was born on February 10, 1895 at Cumberland. He began employment with the Omaha and Northwestern Railroad at the age of 13 and moved to North Hudson in 1916. He was a crane operator and retired in 1956.
On November 28, 1914 he was united in marriage to Rose Dabruzzi at St. Anthony Catholic church in Cumberland.
His hobbies were gardening, hunting, fishing and working in his workshop.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and Brotherhood of Electrical Workers of America.
He is survived by his wife Rose and six daughters: Mrs. Clifford (Phyllis) Hagen, St. Paul, Mrs. William (Louise) Lubich, River Falls, Mrs. Frank (Katherine) Caliguire, Minneapolis, Mrs. Gordon (Delores) Penman, Hudson and Mrs. Glenn (Evelyn) Larson, North Hudson, Mrs. Frank Sirianni (Peggy), Menomone Falls; two brothers, Frank, North Hudson and Angelo, Mankato; 30 grandchildren and 19 great grandchidren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene on February 7, 1950, Felix, October 23, 1955 and Joseph, June 14, 1968.
A Bible reading for the dead was read Sunday, June 7 at Kramer Funeral Home in Hudson. Requiem Mass was said on Monday, June 8 at St. Patrick's Catholic church with Rev. James Hoffman officiating. Interment was in St. Patrick's cemetery.
Grandsons serving as casket bearers wer Donald Hagen, Charles Reisinger, Gene F. Smith, Frank Caliquire, Jr., Dennis Penman and Craig Larson.
