Gilbert Erickson, 79, Buried Here Yesterday
Funeral services were held from First English Lutheran Church here Wednesday for Gilbert Erickson, 79, of Willmar. He died at Rice Hospital there Sunday.

Funeral services for Gilbert Erickson, 79, retired shoemaker were conducted on Wednesday, April 7 in First English Lutheran church in Sacred Heart with the Rev. I. O. Melom officiating.
Mr. Erickson died on April 4 at the Rice Memorial hospital in Willmar, after an illness of a year and a half.
He was born on March 12, 1875, the second son of Erick and Carrie Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Hauges church.
On April 20, 1914 he was united in marriage to Karen Marie Hanson. Most of his life was spent in or near Sacred Heart until seven years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Erickson moved to Willmar.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald. Surviving are his wife, one daughter Irene (Mrs. Arnold Iverson), one son Robert and two grandchildren. Also left are two sisters, Mrs. Clara Wulf of Renville and Mrs. Otto Lanning (Hilda) of Sacred Heart; and six brothers, namely Hagebert, Martin and Alfred of Sacret Heart, Emil and Otto of Minneapolis, and Henry of Willmar.
Serving as pallbearers were Nels Agre, Andrew Finne, Alfred Gerde, Harold Royden, Theodore Wolstad and Matt Jordet.
Obituary also lists those who came from a distance to attend the funeral.
