Announce Marriage of Christine L. Casanova to N.J. Delmonico
Announcement was made this week by Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Casanova of the marriage of their daughter, Christine Louise, to Mr. N. J. Delmonico on Saturday, November 18, 1939.
The ceremony was performed at 8:30 a.,. in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Rush City, Minnesota by the Reverend James C. O'Hara.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attended by her sister, Mrs. P. E. Ryan, of New Richmond, and Mr. P.E. Ryan attended the groom. Miss Katherine Casanova of Marshall, Minnesota, sang several solos during the Mass. After the breakfast, which was served at The Hollyhocks to the immediate family, the bride and groom left for a short trip through southern Wisconsin. They will be at home to their friends after June 15th in their new home which is now being completed at 1215 Second street.

Nicholas John Delmonico, 89, of Hudson died Thursday, January 6 at Hudson Medical Center, where he had been a patient since December 24, He had previously been at St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center after being injured in a pedestrian accident in Hudson on November 10.
He was born October 14, 1904, in Itelia, Sicily, Italy, the son of J. and Caroline (Ranallo) Delmonico.
When he was seven years old, he and his mother and sister, Mary, left Italy and came to Minneapolis to join their husband and father, who had come to America several years earlier. Later the family moved to Hudson. He attended St. Patrick's Parochial School in Hudson.
His workig career started with his employment at the Omaho Railroad Car Shops in North Udson. In the mid-1920s ne left the railroad to organize the North Hudson Auto Company at 501 Sixth St. North, that later was the site of Sam's Restaurant and bowling alley and the Brass Track. Delmonico's auto agency, one of the pioneer auto dealers in the area, sold new and used cards and had the franchise for Star, Durant and Pontiac automobiles.
On November 28, 1939, in Rush City, Minnesota, he was married to Christine L. Casanova.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Christine, in 1977; three sisters, Vicki Withuski in 1967, Sister Florence Marie in 1987, and Mary Villella; and a brother, Eugene A. Richie, USNR, who was killed in 1944 during WWII. Surviving are four sisters, Elsie Mulvaney and Ann Lamberta both of Hudson, Margaret Buttke of North Hudson and Mary Marino of Minneapolis; and three brothers, Louis Richie of North Hudson, Herman Richie of St. Paul and Samuel Richie of Miami, Florida.
Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, January 8, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
