Ingmar Kvarnes, 81 years old and a resident of Hudson for more than a half century, deid Sunday, October 18, at the home of his daugher, Mrs. P. A. Peterson, after an illness of five weeks.
Mr. Kvarnes was born on Feb. 11, 1861 in Norway and where he grew to manhood and was married to Lena Lomnes on October 17, 1886. By the time he migrated to America in 1891, his family included his wife and two children, Olaf and Magnhild (now Mrs. Peterson). They came directly to Hudson and here Mr Kvarnes obtained employment at the Omaha car shops in North Hudson, working as a carpenter in the freight shop.
Besides his wife Lena he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. P. A. Peterson of Hudson; three sons, Olaf of Two Harbors, Eric of Duluth and Melvin of Hudson; five grandchildren; on sister, Pernille Kvarnes of Duluth and one brother, Olaf of St. Paul.
Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in Willow River Cemetery. Pall-bearers were O. J. Solheim, Carl Sandeen, Louis Blegan, John S. Andeson, Jens H. Jenson and A. G. Hennington.
