Elna Sorenson, 92, of Battle Lake died Friday, May 19 at Lake Region Nursing Home in Fergus Falls.
Services were Monday, May 22 at First Lutheran Church of Battle Lake with Pastor Harvey Pedersen officiating.
Myrtle Olson was organist and Elaine Everts was soloist and sang "The Old Rugged Cross" while the congregation sang "What A Friend We Have in Jesus."
Pallbearers were Gordon Knudson, Clarence Dalluge, Larry Highdale and Merell Dalluge. Buril was in the church cemetery.
Elna Sorenson was born and grew up in Blue Earth County near Mankato, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Leman) Dalluge. She and John Sorenson were married March 31, 1915 and they farmed in several areas. They later moved to California, where they lived for about twenty years.
In 1967, they moved to Battle Lake and bought a home. They entered the Battle Lake Care Ceeter when their health failed. Her husband died November 15, 1977. She moved to the Lake Region Nursing Home in January of 1985 where she lived until the time of her death.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Kilredge (Phyllis) Knudson of Battle Lake, Mrs. Vernon (Delores) Kelly of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Howard (Shirley) Wilson of Orange, Calif., Mrs. Selmer (Betty) Highdale of Underwood and Mrs. Jack (Kay Donna) Phillips, Yucca Valley, Calif.; a son, Walton Sorenson of Emmetsburg, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Nilson Funeral Home of Battle Lake was in charge of arrangements.
