John A. Lund Dies June 7
John Alvin Lund, 79, Rt. 2, Highway 35, North Hudson, died Wednesday, June 7, at Hudson Memorial hospital.
Mr. Lnd was born June 12, 1898, in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, the son of Albin and Anna (Eide) Lund. He was baptized and confirmed in Urland church, Cannon Falls.
He was married to Ruth Jenson at Bethel Lutheran church in Hudson September 19, 1951 and he has been a member of Bethel since that time.
Mr. Lund was employed by Badger Sales, also by Bethel Lutheran church and Hudson Memorial hospital as a custodian. Before his retirement he worked for Henry Sommers in North Hudson as a gardner for many years.
Besides his wife, Ruth, he is survived by three daughters, Jane of Equador, South America, Mary of North Hudson, and Joan of River Falls, and by one grandson, Brandon John of North Hudson.
He is also survived by two sisters, Alma Mehouse of Dennison, Minnesota and Pearl Hommadahl of Cannon Falls, and by one brother, Albert Lund of Cannon Falls. Two brothers preceded him in death, Dr. Axel Lund of Minneapolis and William Lund of Cannon Falls.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 10, at 2 p.m., at Bethel Lutheran church with Pastor L. Donald Docken officiating. Mrs. Dale Willi played the organ and Mrs. Howard Knudsen sang "In the Garden."
Interment was in Willow River Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Guldan, Arthur Keiper, Orin Bjornstadt, Jack Lee, Joseph Florence, Hugh Gwin, Wayne Brown, Arnold Engebretson, Robert Hansen, Aldro Larsen, Roger Peterson and James Ostby.
