Pearl G. Erickson, 94, of Hudson died Tuesday, March 2, at Hudson Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Feb. 26.
She was born in Plummer, Minn., March 19, 1904, the daughter of Paul and Emma (Gable) Ostby, and attended school in Emmons, Iowa.
On June 4, 1904, in Emmons, she was married to Lloyd Oscar Erickson.
As newlyweds they lived in St. Paul until moving to Hudson in 1933, where Mr. Erickson was a salesman/representative of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. until retiring in 1960.
After he retired, they moved Clearwater, Fla., but returned to Hudson in June 1979. From 1985 to 1988 they lived in Heritage Apartments in Hammond.
After her husband's death in 1988 she moved back to Hudson and became a resident in April 1998 of the Christian Community Home.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson and the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as worthy matron in 1945. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd, on Feb. 13, 1988; a grandson, Brian Allen Erickson; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are a daughter, Ruth (James) Staberg of North Hudson; two sons, Lloyd (Helen) Erickson, of Stacy, Minn., and Wayne (Catherine) Erickson of St. Paul; two brothers, Otto (Genevieve) Ostby of Kensett, Iowa, and Roger (Naomi) Ostby of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three sisters, Mildred Bakken of Albert Lea, Minn., Edythe Stovern of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Clarine (Frank) Ryan of Novato, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Hudson.
Services were at 1 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson with the Rev. Dennis Nelson officiating. Monica Weekes was organist.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville.
Memorials are preferred to Bethel Lutheran Church.
