Lloyd Oscar Erickson, 83, of Hammond, and formerly of Hudson, died Saturday morning, Feb. 13, at Hudson Medical Center, where he had been a patient the past two weeks.
He was born May 4, 1904, at Nicollet, Minn., the son of Oscar and Anne (Joern) Erickson. When a child, his family moved to St. Paul where he attended school.
He was united in marriage to Pearl g. Ostby June 4, 1925, at Emmons, Minn. They lived in St. Paul, where he was employed at Minnesota Transfer until moving to Hudson in March 1933.
Mr. Erickson was a life insurance salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company from 1933 until retiring in 1960. He and his wife retired to Clearwater, Fla., in 1964 and returned to Hudson in June 1979. They moved to the Heritage Court Apartments in Hammond in March 1985, and resided there until entering American Heritage Care Center in October 1986.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, the Masonic Lodge and a past member of Sons of Norway.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl, of Hammond; a daughter, Mrs. James (Ruth) Staberg, of 707 Pine St. N., Hudson; two sons, Lloyd, Jr. of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Wayne of St. Paul; one brother, Walter, of Escondido, Calif.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Earl and Harry, a sister, Myrtle, and a grandson, Brian Allen Erickson.
Services, Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Bethel Lutheran Church. Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery, Roseville, Minn.
